Welcome to my one bedroom ground floor self-catering flat at Heron’s Flight. The flat is self-contained with its own private entrance and consists of a double bedroom, lounge with bed settee, kitchen/diner and bathroom with shower cubicle.
A big thank you to Malcom MacKenzie for taking the photos.
The door from the kitchen leads out onto the front garden where there is a washing line for your convenience and seating from which the views are lovely – over the Red Barbary hedge to tidal Loch Carron and beyond to Duncraig Castle and the Plockton Crags.
For cooler days there is oil/electric heating. Wifi is excellent at Heron’s Flight and there is also good TV reception. The bookcase holds quite a lot of interest too.
Heron’s Flight is tucked off the road in a very quiet location and has off-street parking beside the house. Short walk (minutes!) from local shops, hotels, etc.
Plockton is an ideal base for day trips to the Isle of Skye, the NTS gardens at Inverewe, the Pictish Brochs at Glenelg, county town Dingwall, Applecross via Britain’s highest mountain pass – or for a scenic train journey to the Highland Capital, Inverness.
There are many interesting drives and places of interest, on and off the mainland. There is often live traditional music in one or other hotel – they and the Shores Restaurant serve excellent food too. During the summer months, I would strongly advise booking in advance for an evening meal at any of the three eating places in Plockton as they are all very popular!
Heron’s Flight house has a drive from the roadway, with gates usually kept closed, as I have a dog, Duncan the Shih Tzu. Duncan and I live in the other part of Heron’s Flight and would be equally happy to offer guidance during your visit to Plockton as we would to leave you in peace to enjoy the beautiful area. Either way, Duncan and I will enjoy having your company next door!
I hope to meet you soon, if you chose to spend a holiday at Heron’s Flight, Plockton.
